Sad! Another Nigerian Footballer Dies

Just weeks after the Nigeria football family lost the Nigeria National League, NNL chairman, Chidi Ofo Okenwa, the “most important league” in the country has been hit with another death as the demise of Bendel Insurance goalkeeper, Umar Ahmad Jalingo, has been announced.

He died today in Gombe after a Brief illness and would be Buried by 2pm according to Islamic rites .

Media Officer of the Benin Arsenal, Kehinde Osagiede announced the sad news in a release Thursday.

According to him, “We are sad to announce the passing of one of our Goalkeepers, Umar Ahmad Jalingo.

“The deseased player’s family source broke the sad news to Insurance Team Manager, Coach Bernard Ogbe this morning .

“He was said to have been discharged from the Federal Teaching Hospital, Gombe on Wednesday.

“Umar Jalingo, 27, died at the early hours of today (Thursday) during illness,” part of the statement read.

Umar Ahmad Jalingo left behind, a wife, Hajia Zuleha and four children.

The family source also informed the club management of their plans to bury the remains of late Umar Jalingo at 2.00PM today in order of Islamic rites and traditions.

Umar Maijalingo was a Former Mighty Jets, Gombe United Football Club, Niger Tornadoes and Currently Bendel Insurance
