  Sad News As Ex-Super Eagles Star Dies In Hospital By Niyi Busari Former Super Eagles defender, Yisa Sofoluwe died on Tuesday night at Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH) Lagos, BSNSports.com.ng reports. Before his death, the Maroc ’88 Africa Cup of Nations star was diagnosed with mild cerebral atrophy, a brain disease. Sofoluwe was earlier admitted at the Prince and Life Medical Hospital, Ikorodu, Lagos, before he was rushed to LUTH on Friday, after his medical condition became worse. Nicknamed, 'Dean of Defence' by legendary radio commentator, Ernest Okonkwo, for his defence prowess, he won 40 caps for the Super Eagles and scored one goal. He held away in the right back position between1983 and 1988, playing at the 1984 and 1988 African Nations Cups. He also played for defunct Abiola Babes of Abeokuta , IICC of Ibadan now 3SC, Gateway football Club of Abeokuta.
