SAFA Appoints Helman Mkhalele As Broos' Assistant By Uche Dozie South Africa Football Association (SAFA) has appointed Helman Mkhalele as the assistant coach of the senior male national team, BSNSports.com.ng reports. He becomes the Bafana Bafana local assistant coach after Broos brought Macedonian tactician Cedomir Janevski as his first assistant. In a press briefing on Friday, CEO Tebogo Motlanthe confirmed that the former Orlando Pirate Player will take the role despite reports of Coach Broos preferring former South African Coach Molefi Ntseki. The under 20 Coach was chosen according to reports that Molefi Ntseki failed to agree terms with SAFA, who had offered him the position. Mkhalele, 51 replaced Thabo Senong in 2019 to become Amajita coach (U20). He won the 1996 Nations Cup with South Africa playing sixty-six matches and scoring eight goals.
