Safety Babes Defeat Champions Plateau Peacock To Win Handball League

Despite pressure and tensions, Safety Babes have emerged the champions of Women Handball League on Wednesday after beating title holder Plateau Peacock in the final match, played at Rowe Park Yaba, Lagos

BSN reports thst the Road Safety girls has maintained their position on top of the log through out competitions and needed only a draw to clinch their trophy.

After leading 18-14 in the first half, the Road Safety side held their nerve to claim the victory in the second half on Wednesday.

At the end of the league season, Safety Babes finished on top with 32 points from 18 matches, celebrating 16 wins and only losing twice.

For emerging champion, Safety Babes got One million naira, while second Edo Dynamos and Plateau Peacocks got Seven hundred and fifty thousand naira (N750,000) and five hundred thousand N500,000 naira respectively.
