Salah equals Drogba record as the top-scoring African in Premier League

Egyptian Mohammed Salah has equaled Didier Drogba's record as the top-scoring African in the Premier League.

Salah bagged a goal in Liverpool's 5-0 win over Watford on Saturday to take his Premier League tally to 104 the same number as Didier Drogba who featured for Chelsea FC over two spells before his eventual departure, for a second time, in 2015.

Since joining Liverpool from AS Roma in 2017, Salah has not dipped below 15 league goals, a level of consistency that has swiftly lifted him up the African Premier League scoring chart.

He netted 19 goals as the Reds ended their 30-year wait for a domestic top-flight title last year and currently leads the goalscoring charts with seven goals (the same number as Jamie Vardy of Leicester City).

Salah's teammate Sadio Mane is not far behind the tally as he netted 100 league goals in the Watford game too and will be looking to break Drogba's record before the season ends.
