Siasia, Obuh congratulate Amuneke on Tanzania job By Admin Former Super Eagles coach, Samson Siasia has congratulated his former teammate Emmanuel Amuneke on his getting the Tanzania national team job. Speaking with www.bsnsports.com.ng Siasia expressed delight at the develooment and hope Amuneke succeed in his new assignment. "Well i am happy for him and just want to wish him the best of luck. Amuneke has been in Sudan before now. I think he is spreading his wings. For Tanzania to take him, that means they have seen what he has done from the U17 and in Sudan." In the same vein, former Flying Eagles coach, John Obuh also reacted to the recent appointment of Emmanuel Amuneke, as new Tanzania head coach. Obuh who led the Flying Eagles to the 2009 FIFA U-17 World Cup held in Nigeria admonished the 1994 African Footballer of the Year to calm down, understand the culture of his new place of work but must be professional by being firm and disciplined. While congratulating Amuneke on his new assignment, Obuh acknowledged the difficulty of Nigerian coaches getting jobs outside the country. “When you receive such a story about Amuneke getting a job outside the shores of the country, you will actually feel very impressed knowing full well he is representing us as well, he said. According to him, “We have very good coaches in Nigeria and when one of us makes headway such as this, we are encouraged.” He further went on to state that coaches like him pray for such opportunities to come their way and he believes Amuneke “has opened the doors for us to join him”. Amuneke was appointed on Monday to lead Taifa Stars to glory after signing a two-year deal while he will also coach all the Tanzanian youth teams and be assisted by local trainers for each category. The former Barcelona winger’s immediate task will be to help the Taifa Stars qualify for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon. His first official game will be on September 7th, 2019 when his boys take on Uganda in the AFCON qualifying series in Kampala.
