Samuel Kalu makes long-awaited debut, as Watford suffer loss

    Super Eagles of Nigeria forward, Samuel Kalu was finally handed his long-awaited debut yesterday when he featured for Roy Hodgson led Watford team in their 27th league game of the English Premiership against Arsenal at the Vicarage Road Stadium, BSNSports.com.ng reports. The 24 years old Nigerian dazzler switched his move to the English premier league club in the last transfer window from French Ligue 1 giant, Girondis Bordeaux after a successful three and a half years spell at the club. Since his move to the Vicarage Road outfit, he has not been given a role to play in the team until yesterday when he was introduced into the game in the late minute to the end of the second half. Samuel Kalu in the game replaced Tom Cleverly as he finally made his debut against Arsenal and he was able to give a flash of what he has to offer the club, with the winger having one shot on target with an exquisite movements. The game ended three goals to two at full time between the two sides with goals from Martin Odegaard, Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli making it three for the Mikel Arteta's side while Cucho and Moussa Sissoko scored the two goals for the host in the narrow defeat. Watford with the result of the night still wallowed in the relegation threatened zone as they currently sit at the 19th spot on the table with just 19 points accrued in 27 games played and as such be hoping to be back to winning ways in their next fixture, so as to continue their pursuit in the competition. Samuel Kalu having showcased his prowess with the few minutes spent on the pitch of play will also be optimistic to get enough playing time in their next game.
