Sand Eagles secures final ticket, qualifies for World Cup Sampson Adedeji Despite not preparing adequately for the ongoing African Beach soccer competition, Super Sand Eagles has qualified for the final of the tournament after the edged Egyptian counterpart 7-6. The Nigeria team rallied back after they suffered defeat in their opening game against defending champion Senegal via penalty. Sand Eagles finished second in their group after they defeated Tanzania 4-2 and qualified to face Egypt in the Semi final. Nigeria qualifications means the team also qualified for the 2019 FIFA Beach soccer world cup slated for Paraguay.
