Nigeria's Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has stated that he was scared of moving to Italy when the Napoli offer came up but afraid of playing at Naples, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
Former Golden Eaglets skipper joined Napoli this summer after a fulfilling outing in the French Lique One with LOSC Lille.
While speaking with Italia football news outlet, TLN Osimhen explained that he was encouraged by the club coach Gennaro Gattuso and President Aurelio De Laurentiis.
" At first, I was a bit afraid of coming to Italy, not Naples in particular,” he told TLN. “But I spoke with the coach first and then the President.
Before I had even signed, the fans showed me a lot of love when I arrived. It was easy for me to make this decision.”
Osimhen has since played four times in Serie A, contributing one goal and one assist.
“It’s a dream come true for me because I watched him play and to play for Gattuso is a great satisfaction.
“I can grow as a player and a man, and I’m sure I will improve," he stated.
