Nigeria's Super Eagles and Omonia Nicosia defender, Shehu Abdullahi, has tendered an unreserved apology to the fans and supporters of the club for their not too impressive performance in the league this season, BSNsports.com.ng can report.
Despite starting on a strong note this season, injury-ravaged and affected the performance of the team.
Former Kano Pillars defender apologised to the club faithful through his social media handle and promised that they will make up for it in the cup competitions.
" Last season, we won the League after years of waiting. We added the Super Cup and our objective was to achieve more this season because our fans deserve the titles for their overwhelming support.
Unfortunately, this season has been tough for the team and we apologize.
We take responsibility for our performance irrespective of the injury crisis that affected the team's squad.
We have resolved to fight in the Cup and compete, improve our performance and ensure we finish the season on a high.
We need your support and we appreciate your love," he said.
The club dropped to 7th position with 31 points in 22 matches after suffering a 2-4 defeat to rival Apoel Nicosia.
