Show Nigerians Where Club Owners Is Recognised In Nigeria Football Statute - Baribote

Former Second Vice-president of the Nigeria Football Federation, Victor Baribote insisted that the Club Owners Association is alien to Nigerian Football laws, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The former Chairman, Nigeria Premier League, NPL, admitted that the Association was registered which makes it a legal entity but explained that the body is not recognized by the Nigeria football laws.

"Well, the Club Owners just want to confuse Nigerians, it is not about insulting me. I am not saying I am not a member of Club Chairmen which was incorporated by late Moshood Abiola and Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu who were real club owner before now. I know they are incorporated which makes it a legal entity." Baribote tells BSN Sports.

"But, what I am saying is that they are not known to Nigerian football laws where does the name of club owners feature? I am saying that what is provided for the chairmen of the of clubs is to elect one of them to represent them in the board of the league body, nothing more than that.

"Whatever it is not found on the NFF statute can not be applicable to the league.

"Yes, the founders who are real club owners registered and incorporated it but they're not known to our laws.

Article 33 of the NFF statute, provides that the State FA Chairmen will elect one person to represent them on the board while the league board will aso elect one person to be represented on the NFF Board, which makes it seven people on the board.

"Let them tell Nigerians where it is provided that club owners should be represented in the NFF statute. I am saying that they are not to our football laws. They should tell Nigerians where in NFF statute that recognises the Club Owners." He concluded.
