Solanke Brace Denies Leicester City From Leapfrogging Chelsea

Nigeria born and Bournemouth striker, Dominic Solanke double disallowed Leceister City to reclaim their third position on the log, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The duo of Super Eagles players, Kelechi Iheanacho and Wilfred Ndidi started the match-day 35 encounter for Leicester City but their efforts were not enough for the former English Premier League champions to pick the needed points.

While Iheanacho who has helped his team won matches since the restart of the league was replaced in the 46th minute, his compatriot, Wilfred Ndidi was on for full duration of the game.

Dennis Praet replaces Iheanacho while Ndidi was cautioned by the center referee in the 64th minute.

Leicester City striker, Jamie Vardy had put the visitors ahead in the 23rd minute before Junior Stanislas 66th minute penalty brought the game to level term.

Former Chelsea striker Dominic Solanke who has not scored for his team this season, completed his brace three minutes to the end of the match after netting his first goal in 67 minutes. Johnny Evans owngoal completed the rout as ten-man Leicester City lost the opportunity to leapfrog Chelsea as the fight for top four continues.

The shock loss left Leicester in the 4th on the log with 59 points while Chelsea who lost 3-0 to Sheffield United on Saturday are one point better.
