Solskjaer reveals why Ighalo was dropped from Man Utd trip

By Admin

Manchester United are currently in Spain, training ahead of their Premier League tie with Chelsea at the Stamford Bridge. The Red Devils' new signing Odion Ighalo was dropped for the trip and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer revealed why the Nigerian forward was dropped.

Ighalo joined Manchester United on deadline day last month from Chinese Super League side Shanghai Shehua on loan until the end of the season. Report have it that the 30-year-old missed the trip due to fears the coronavirus outbreak could deny him an entry back to UK.

In an interview, Solskjaer confirmed that Ighalo was interested in joining his new teammate but the risk of border restrictions tightening.

"He might have liked to have come with the players and got to know them. But the risk [of border restrictions tightening] we don't want to take." Solskjaer said.
