The National coordinator, Presidential Task Force on Coronavirus, Dr Sani Aliyu has revealed that it’s not yet time and safe for football to resume in Nigeria.

The PTF Head, made this known on Thursday during a media briefing in Abuja after the task force had earlier lifted the ban on non-contact sport alone and there were suggestions as to football returning in the country.

However, when quizzed on the clarification of Sports ban relaxation, Dr Aliyu said only non contact sport is allowed to resume.

“I am also a football fan, but sadly football can not resume in the country yet, until it is safe to do so, there is no football in the country”, he said.

All football activities in the country were to be put on hold following the outbreak of Coronavirus in the country earlier this year.

Recall that the minister of sports, Sunday Dare thanked President Muhammadu Buhari and the PTF for lifting suspension on all sporting activities.
