South Korea Defeats Nigeria at Junior Handball World Cup In Spain

Nigeria lost their third game in a role at the Junior Handball World Cup holding in Spain as they were defeated by South Korea 42-30 on Friday.

The national under 21 male national team had earlier lost to 48-19 and Egypt 47-30 before losing to the enterprising Korean team.

Captain of the Nigeria Junior team, Danlami Abdullah was voted as the Most Valuable Player on the Nigerian side.

Coach Shittu Adewunmi has described the loss as very painful and has advocated for more to be done as regards the development of handball in Nigeria so as to compete favourably with the best in the world.

"Nigeria still has a long way to go in handball development as wee were obviously outplayed by sizes, strength and power" He said.

Nigeria can still qualify for the next round of the competition as they play Australia on Saturday by 12pm Nigerian time and Sweden the next day.

A win for them will ensure qualification for the junior team.
