SPL: Aribo Absence Cost Us The Game - Gerrard

By Sampson Adedeji

The head coach of the Scottish premier league side Glasgow Rangers Steven Gerrard has explained the reason his side was unable to secure maximum point against Livingstone last weekend, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The winning streak of Ger was cut short on Saturday by visiting Livingstone FC with the home team missing the services of two Nigeria Internationals.

The duo of defender Leon Balogun and midfielder Joe Aribo were missing from the match due to injury.

Liverpool legend confirmed that the absence of Aribo cost them the points, as the team attack was slow throughout the entire match.

“I’m hoping to have him back for next weekend. He’s got a small ankle problem that we scanned. There’s a bit of swelling in there which is obviously a big risk coming to a surface like this.

We made the sensible call but I think we certainly missed Joe today as he’s obviously a game changer in the final third.

Rangers will hope to return to a winning ways when they face Kilmarnock in the next match day.
