SPL: Aribo On Target As Balogun Suffers injury

It was a mixed feelings for Nigeria'sSuper Eagles duo defender Leon Balogun and midfielder Joe Aribo on Wednesday despite their club Rangers resounding victory over St Johnstone, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Both of them started the match but it was only Aribo that was able to finished the tie as Balogun could not return for the second stanza of the match.

The Scottish premier league side has been having a good ride since the commencement of the season thrashed visiting St Johnstone 3-0 with Aribo scoring the 3rd goal in the 49th minute of the match.

Meanwhile, the team head coach Steven Gerrard allays fear on Balogun's injury and also confirmed that the player will be tested on Thursday.

“I think Balogun has a tight quad and we’ll get that looked at in [on Thursday] morning.

He is definitely a concern for the weekend but we have real strong options in that area. Fil came on and played like an international player with experience.

“Hopefully it’s not a bad one. Leon walked past me earlier so I don’t think it’s anything major," he said.
