SPL: Balogun Returns, As Aribo Star In Rangers Win

  By Sampson Adedeji Injured Nigeria's Super Eagles defender Leon Balogun returned to starting line up of Scottish premier league side Glasgow Rangers on boxing day as they secured 1-0 win over Hibernian, BSNSports.com.ng reports. Former Mainz 05 defender missed the last match against St Johnstone due to the injury he sustained in the cup game against St Mirren. He was named in the starting line up ahead of Fil Helander and his inclusion worked well for the club as he gave good account of himself in providing a cover McGregor. Balogun almost opened the scoring in the 15th minute of the encounter off an assist from Nigeria international Joe Aribo who was also instrumental to the victory. Ianis Hagi netted the only goal of the game after a good footwork from Aribo. The victory ensured that Gers strengthen its lead on top of the league table ahead of rival Celtic.
