  SPL: Balogun Signs Contract Extension With Rangers By Sampson Adedeji Following his amazing performance for Scottish Premier League champions, Rangers has rewarded Nigeria's Super Eagles defender Leon Balogun with a new one year deal, BSNSports.com.ng reports. The former Mainz 05 defender joined the Gers last summer from the English premier league side Brighton Hove Albion after a successful loan spell with Wigan Athletic in the championship. He played a key role as Rangers reclaimed the league title from their archrival Celtic and made the club theosr successful team in the Scottish league with 55 title. The club confirmed the extension on Friday afternoon and hope he will continue his superlative performance as Rangers will campaign in the champions league next season. The 32-year old energetic defender has played 28 matches for the club this season.
