SportsEdu+ Fustar National Football Youth League Kicks off Next Year By Niyi Busari BSN Sports can report that Sports Edu+ national U19 football Youth League will kick off in Lagos in 2019. Former Nigerian international Sodiq Buhari popularly known as David Doherty made this known to www.bsnsports.com.ng in Abuja. According to him, the programme is aimed at developing sports at the grassroots level but will focus on secondary schools and football academies across Nigeria in the first three years. The Three year programme will run in schools both private and state schools, and each school will have its own U16 side boys and girls that will compete in an independent league called FUSTAR Youth League between schools only. ( The start of this will be based on the numbers of schools we have managed to sign up) The other stream of FUSTAR will also have private owned academies for U19's to compete in, This will like be the first one to start as teams are already interested. At the end of every season in the league, best legs will be selected for a tour of friendly and scouting opportunities abroad. Before the end of the first three years, the program should have produced 18-man football team from the youth league that will travel to Europe for scouting as well as good and young referees, coaches, pundits,match readers etc who will be employed take charge of the second three years. The sports development which starts in Nigeria will benefit other parts of African countries.
