Stallion FC win maiden Alkali Muhammed U-13 Football Tournament

STALLIONS FC WIN MAIDEN ALKALI MOHAMMED UNDER 13 FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT. BY: DEMI BOLAJI. Stallions Football Club of Nassarawa-Eggon has won the first edition of Mohammed Alkali U-13 football competition aimed at developing grassroots footballers from tender age. The final match which was against Black Emperors Football club ended 1-1 after regulation time, with Stallions FC winning gold in the penalty shootout. Stallions Fc scored nine spot kicks in the penalty shootout while their opponents, Black Emperors Fc scored eight spot kicks to finally settle for silver. During regular playing time of 30 minutes in each of the halves, Black Emperors Fc scored the first goal in the 16th minute of first half through jersey number 9 Yusuf Mohammed who slipped in the goal from 20 yard box. Stallion Fc leveled the score in the 23rd minute of the game through a penalty kick which their jersey number 8 Abubakar Kabir converted and sent the goal keeper of Black Emperor Fc the wrong way. Chairman Niger state football association Yusuf Ahmed Fresh who led other top Football Association chairmen to the closing ceremony donated the sum of N100,000 to Stallion Fc while Black Emperor FC got N50,000. He said the U-13 tournament was an avenue for the young players to showcase their talent and Nasarawa state has set the pace among other north central state, calling on other state Football Associations in the country to follow suit. The final match of the 1st U-13 football tournament in Nasarawa state also witnessed the presentation of training kits and footballs to the 14 football clubs participating in the state wide league as a benevolence of the state FA to the development of football across the state.
