Sunday Dare Visits The Camp Of National Female Handball Team By Uche Dozie Nigeria Sport's Minister, Sunday Dare paid a visit to the National Female Handball Team in their camp in Aguiyu Ironsi Cantonment, Abuja on Wednesday to encourage them ahead of the Africa Women Handball Championship 2021 holding in Yaoundé, Cameroon from June 10 through to 20, 2021, BSNSoprts.com.ng reports. Dare who spoke to journalists during his visit said he was there to know how far they have gone in their preparations and to show support to the team. "The female Handball Team are competing at the Cup of Nations and that's the reason why I am here today to see them. I am glad they are in Abuja. I will be back here again unofficially to encourage them and support them." The Minister said. The minister also used the opportunity to praise the president of the Handball Federation, Sam Ochehe for his great treads in the federation. "I think I have said it repeatedly that San is a model president. The way he has ran the Handball Federation. The model of public-private partnership, he has leverage on private sector, gotten sponsorship. He has been consistent in presenting these people at the tournaments and championships. That's the kind of federation we want to see, that kind of template for every of our federation and once you have that template, you have a very successful federation. I want to just encourage him that both the male team and the female team must continue to grow and also get the support that they need." Nigeria is participating in their 9th Championship and the last time the women National team qualified for the championship was in 1994 when they came 5th in Tunisia. They will play in group B against DR Congo, Kenya and host Cameroon.
