SUNDERLAND are set to receive a seven-figure transfer windfall in the summer - thanks to Fulham's deadline-day move for their former striker, Josh Maja, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
Fulham are signing Maja on a season-long loan from his current employers, Bordeaux.
However, the Cottagers are also pushing for the inclusion of a clause in the deal that will enable them to complete a permanent deal for Maja in the summer.
Maja is valued at around £10m, and Fulham's clause is expected to be around that figure.
Sunderland sold Maja to Bordeaux in January 2019 and, crucially, inserted a sell-on clause into the deal that took the forward to Ligue 1.
The Black Cats are understood to be guaranteed ten per cent of any future transfer fee for Maja - money that will come in extremely useful if Fulham complete the permanent signing of the forward in the summer.
