SUPER 8: NNL REQUESTS NEW KICK OFF DATE, JAN. 5 FOR PROMOTION PLAYOFF

The Nigeria National League (NNL) has requested the postponement of the planned Super 8 in Aba from Thursday January 3 2019.

A letter signed by the League Chief Opearting Officer, Lawrence Katken seeks two days postponement of the long disputed Super 8 to Saturday, January 5 2018.

The letter addressed to the Chairman, Nigeria Football Federation Football Committee and obtained by SportsMill read inter alia:

"Sequel to our meeting on 27th December, 2018 held in Lagos we hereby request for the shift of date for the commencement of the Super 8 from the 3rd to 5th January, 2019.

"This is to enable the concerned club's to effect the resolution of the meeting in good time."

In the meantime, Chairman of the League Management Company, Shehu Dikko while on Channels TV programme Tuesday, has insisted that January 13th remained the kick off date of the 2018/19 Nigerian Professional Football League season.
