Mikel held talks with Tony Pulis at the Middlesbrough training ground last week before returning to London to visit his family.

Mikel has been on the radar of several European big weights like Roma and Wolfsburg after his stay with Chinese club Tianjin Teda but it seems a reunion with his family has now given the championship side pole position to land the midfielder.
