Nigeria's Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr on Thursday lost his mother Madam Elisabeth Rohr at age 97, BSNSports.com.ng can report.

Rohr was on the sideline when Super Eagles played out a 2-2 draw with Ukraine in an international friendly on Tuesday at Dnipro Arena.

Rohr on his return from the international friendly match met the sad news of the demise of his mother.

The Nigeria Football Federation sent a condolence message to the coach via their social media handle on Thursday.

"We commiserate with Super Eagles Head coach, Mr Gernot Rohr who just lost his mother Madam Elisabeth Rohr. She was 97. May her soul rest in peace," the message reads.
