Super Eagles Invitation, A Dream Come True - Adekunle Adeleke
By Sampson Adedeji
Few days after the conclusion of the 2021 African Cup Of Nations qualifier, newly invited Abia Warriosr defender, Adeleke Adekunle considered his invitation to Super Eagles camp as a dream come true, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
Invitation was extended to the hard working defender after CD Leganes centre back Kenneth Omeruo withdrew from the team.
Adekunle was among the three home based players invited to the team but he was an unused substitute in both matches against Squirrels of Benin Republic and Lesotho.
While speaking to his club media, Adekunle said he will continue to work hard in order to get invitation back into the team in future.
“It was all like a dream, a dream come through for me, My joy knew no bounds after i got a call from the coach to link up with the rest of the team in Lagos”
“From the warm reception on arrival and meeting with the guys already in camp, it was just a different kind of feeling. Getting to meet, interact and dine with some of the guys from top European leagues made me have a self belief that i can actually be in their level with more hard work”
“The bond in the team is commendable, their was no discrimination of any kind to the three of us who made it to camp from the Nigerian topflight league, the boat cruise to Benin Republic is one i cant get over because they made the journey fun for everyone”
“They really encouraged us and i equally got motivated that i can attain their level some day after hearing their stories of days of little begining.
“I will keep working hard to go way up the level i am today and i know one day i will have the privilege to Cap for the team, Adekunle concluded.
