Babatunde joined the capital city based club in 2018 after his departure from Qatari club FC Qatar. The left footed player took to his social media handle and sent emotional message to the entire staff of the club wishing them the best for the future. “These years in Wydad Casablanca, have been wonderful. None of this would have been possible without the club’s support. He added, "Special thanks to the fans, my teammates, the club staffs, to the coaches who had confidence in me and gave me the opportunity to grow as a player. He continued, "However, I believe that the time has come for a new chapter in my career.To the fans, you have been absolutely amazing in the last three years. It has been an exciting one for me in the city of Morroco. “To everyone at Wydad, Goodbye and thank you. Wydad will be forever in my heart.Keep the flag flying,” he said. Babatunde who has also played in Ukraine was part of Nigeria's Super Eagles to 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil under late coach Stephen Keshi and has 17 caps and 2 goal for Nigeria.
