The former Warri Wolves midfielder joined the Potters in June 2018 for £6.35 million and has made 34 appearances this season, scoring 2 goals.
His heroics was however not enough to push the team towards promotion to the English top tier as the club finished in 16th place on the Championship table with 55 points.
Etebo will be hoping to be in coach Gernot Rohr's squad for next month's African Cup of Nations in Egypt.
