Super Eagles Defender Quits Club Over Salary By Admin Super Eagles new star Olamilekan Adeleye has quit Nigeria Professional Football League outfit FC Ifeanyiubah over salary issue. The defender wrote a letter to the club side via his agent Sporteo informing the Nnewi club that he now a free agent following a breach of contract which he copied FIFA, NFF, LMC as well as FIFPRO. According to a statement available to www.bsnsports.com.ng claiming that Adeleye and his agent has sent several notices to the management of FC Ifeanyiubah without respond on the matter but Nigeria international who earned his senior national team cap against Liberia early this month has been owed salaries totalling N2.8 million Naira for several months. His agent (Sporteo) has sighted all the correspondences (letters) beginning with that of July 19, 2018 with follow-up letter of August 6, 2018, as final warning for the salaries to be paid up after which the letter of September 5, that terminated the player’s contract after invoking the FIFA law concerning failure for a club to meet up with their financial obligations. “In the case of a club unlawfully failing to pay at least two monthly salaries on their due dates, the player will be deemed to have a just cause to terminate his contract, provided that he has put the debtor club in default in writing and has granted a deadline of at least 15 days for the debtor club to fully comply with its financial obligation(s),” Sporteo stated in a notice to the club.
