Super Eagles Not Scared Of Tunisia, Algeria Threats – Pascal

Super Eagles team coordinator, Pascal Patrick, said that Nigeria’s national team are not scared of any threats ahead of next month international friendly matches against Algeria and Tunisia in Austria.

Recall that last Tuesday, Super Eagles Technical Adviser Gernot Rohr‘s 25-man list invited for friendly games in October was made public by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).

In a chat with LEADERSHIP sports, Pascal said that the pressure would not be on the Super Eagles but on their opponents, noting that the three-time African champion would not underrate any of the teams.

“Super Eagles will not be scared of playing Tunisia and Algeria rather they should be scared of playing Nigeria because we are better than when we played at the 2019 AFCON in Egypt,” he said.

“We defeated Tunisia at the third-place match at the AFCON, they should be scared of us and the pressure would not be on the Super Eagles but on Tunisia and Algeria.

“We played Brazil, Poland and other big countries and we performed well, Nigeria is the country other countries are looking up to, looking at Chukwueze, Osimhen, Samuel Kalu who will confidentially mark them because they are very fast with the ball”.

Pascal who doubles as the chairman of Bauchi State Football Association (BAFA) said an extended invitation to seven uncapped youngsters is a right step in the right direction adding that Nigerians are expecting an impressive performance from the team.

“With the calibre of players the coach invited, I am confident that Nigeria will come out top at the end of the games, no doubt some players would be coming into the team for the very first time, and they will definitely blend with the regular players”.

“This time around we are looking forward to seeing the new set of goalkeepers, Samson Tijani, Cyril Dessers and others to feel what they can bring to the national team” he concluded.

The Super Eagles, now ranked 29th in the world and third in Africa, will take on Algeria on 9th October and four days later, they will engage the Carthage Eagles, who are second in Africa in the ranking.
