Super Eagles Still Need Experience Players Like Us - Ideye

By Sampson Adedeji

Nigeria international Brown Ideye has stated that Nigeria's Super Eagles still experience players like him to achieve its set objectives.

Ideye who is now with Greek premier league side Aris Thessaloniki, was part of Nigeria's Super Eagles side that emerged champions of Africa in 2013 in South Africa, BSN Reports.

Since the coming of Gernot Rohr as the Head coach of Super Eagles, Ideye has been out of national team due to injuries and lost of form.

While speaking on a Radio interview, Ideye hailed the present set of Super Eagles players and further believed that age sometimes don't matter in the game.

"I think yes but at the moment I think they don't need people like us. I've played and done a lot for the national team.

I deserve to be there. As soon as you turn 30, Nigerians feel that you are old meanwhile, 30 is the peak of football.

"They see you as old and go for young blood they feel can do better. In football, yes young ones are good but you also need the old legs to cap it all up", he said.

Before returning back to Greece, former Olympiakos striker has played for West Bromwich Albion, Tianjin Teda.
