Victor Osimhen will not be continuing his career at Belgian First Division A team Zulte-Waregem, allnigeriasoccer.com has been informed.
Though there are claims that Wolfsburg could not reach an agreement with Zulte-Waregem on the purchase clause that would have been inserted into the striker's contract, the fact is the Nigeria national-teamer failed to convince manager Francky Dury at the end of tests which lasted for about one week.
Osimhen would have joined Zulte-Waregem on a season-long loan if the club had signed him this summer.
The 19-year-old was top scorer of the 2015 Fifa U17 World Cup after scoring ten goals in seven matches, which helped the Golden Eaglets win the tournament for the fifth time in their history.
In 2017, Osimhen joined Wolfsburg from Ultimate Strikers Lagos for a transfer fee of three million euros.
In 16 competitive appearances for the German Bundesliga club, he is still searching for his first goal.
