Despite getting four points out of the available 6 points in the final group games of the Qatar 2022 World Cup qualifier, Nigeria's Super Eagles remained static in the latest FIFA ranking, BSNsports.com.ng can report.
Nigeria defeated Liberia 0-2 in Tangier and played out a 1-1 draw against Cape Verde in the last group C FIFA World Cup qualifiers game played in Lagos.
Nigeria came top of the group with 13 points and clinched a playoff ticket but that didn't earn the team points to change the team position in the latest ranking released on Friday.
Nigeria remained fifth in Africa and 36th in the World behind Senegal, Morocco, Tunisia and Algeria.
According to FIFA, the ranking will be the yardstick when the draw for the playoff will be conducted in December.
