Super Falcons Camp Bubble As 14 Players Arrive Ahead Jamaica Clash By Our Reporter The camp of the Nigeria’s women’s national team came alive on Monday evening for this week’s Women’s Summer Series, with the arrival of two foreign-based players. With the traveling schedule of Nigeria players, at the end of today no fewer than 14 players should be in camp ahead of their first match against Jamaica on Thursday. Hitting the camp first were FC Zurich Nigerian defender Onyinyechi Zogg and TiPS striker Roosa Ariyo en route Amsterdam Airport Schiphol to Houston on Monday evening. Following their arrivals, the two foreign-born players were immediately ferried to the team’s accomodation at Marriott Marquis located in the heart of Houston, by 5pm local time. According to SavidNews, Zogg and Ariyo will be also joined at the hotel before dinner time on Monday by Super Falcons head coach Randy Waldrum, who left his base in Pittsburgh same afternoon. On Tuesday, 10 foriegn-based players in Europe, including Spain-based captain Asisat Oshoala and assistant captain Francisca Ordega are expected to arrive in Houston, while the Nigeria-based delegation will fly in from Lagos for the four-nation tournament. The delegation led by Honourable Ayo Omidiran, also head of women’s football Amina Daura, officials, including two members of the technical crew – Wemimo Matthew and Ann Chiejine plus 10 players from the Nigeria Women’s Football League Premiership to hit Houston same day. Upon the arrival of Nigeria delegation, the West African nation are expected to hold their first training session in Houston in build up to their opener against Jamaica on Thursday. The Super Falcons will open the 10-day competition against Raggae Girlz at BBVA Stadium in Houston on June 10, followed by a meeting with Portugal three days later at the same venue. Before traveling to Austin’s Q2 stadium to face four-time World and Olympics champions USA at the home of new Major League Soccer club, Austin FC, on June 16.
