After spending eight solid years at the helms of affairs as the executive governor of Nasarawa state, governor Umaru Tanko Al Makura of the All Progressive congress APC, is set to pass on the mantle of leadership to his amiable deputy, Silas Agara, a budding politician who has matured in a short while, to become one of the shinning light of democracy and strong.voice of the ruling party expecially in north western Nigeria. The people of Nasarawa state have full confidence in Silas' ability to continue from.where his predecessor stopped but are quick to highlight those legacies that must be given priority under a new administration. Young but very vibrant journalist, Adam Jesse who has carefully followed events as they unfold in the last eight years in the state, describes the outgoing governor as the number one supporter of sport in Nasarawa state and a die-hard fan of Nasarawa amazons and the solid Miners, as Nasarawa united FC are fondly called. He says, Agara has shown in eight years that he shares same passion with the outgoing governor and will continue to build the house from where he left it. "Massive. If i must be sincere, Governor Umaru Tanko Al Makura has done very well in the sporting sector. From the Miners to the Amazons down to other sports he is indeed a father. This I can testify. He is a listener. I will personally not take anything away from his deputy too, Hon Silas Ali Agara. They are the reason why sports has been on the rise in the state. Jesse wants the next governor of the state to retain the services of the present management team of Nasarawa united led by the present league Club owners chairman, Barrister Isaac Danladi, a man he describes as a passionate administrator, an erodite personality and very focused and result motivated individual. "Barr. Danladi has done very well to be sincere, although he can still do better. Under his reign the club has risen from the normal NPFL side to a team that is feared by the more illustrious clubs in the league. His influence and charisma as club owners chairman has helped to place the Lafia based club among the elites of Nigeria football The fans, the players and the coaches appreciate his immense influence on the success story of the club and we all, will appreciate if he stays on as club chairman. We must remember that Nasarawa united played the CAF confederation cup during the reign of Danladi as club chairman and made massive income from the sale of players. 90% of the players that qualified the team for the continent were relatively unknown until they achieved that feat in 2015, most of them are with bigger teams now... Philip Azango (Trencin), Shammah Tanze, Samson Gbadebo, Lordson Ichull (Finland), Tayo Fabiyi, Nweke Ifeanyi, Paul Danjuma, Philip Auta, Eugene Obi, Bashir Abdulrahman, Onaolapo Olayinka" Adam Jesse also praised the state government for sustaining their brilliant work in the club with the improved welfare package and better working condition given players and officials of Nasarawa united. " Salaries come as at when due and there are no carryovers. On how much the players receive as take home, that is strictly between the players and their employers (The government). One thing i can say is that the players are always well taken care of he concluded"
