SWAN Commiserates With Weightlifting Federation Over Death Of President, Yahaya Muhammed

The National Secretariat of Sports Writers' Association of Nigeria, SWAN, has commiserated with the Weightlifting Federation over the death of its President, Yahaya Muhammed who died in Kano yesterday.

The SWAN President, Comrade Ahmed Aigbona in a statement jointly signed by the Secretary General of the Association, Comrade Mike Oboh described Muhammed's death as a big loss not only to the Weightlifting Federation, but to the entire Sports Industry.

The Statement noted that the quality leadership provided by the deceased while steering the affairs of the Federation would be greatly missed by the members of the Federation and other stakeholders in the industry.

"It was with profound shock and sadness that SWAN learnt of the tragic passing of Yahaya Muhammed. May his gentle soul rest in eternal peace.

"As Sports writers, we prayed that may God Almighty give the family, friends and other members of the Federation he left behind the strength and the courage to bear the loss," the statement reads.
