SWAN Election: NUJ Removes Former Chairman, Chidoka, Writes Disclaimer Letters To Authorities

The Nigeria Union of Journalists (FCT Chapter) has removed former FCT Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) Chairman, Ndubueze Chidoka from its executive committee seat, after an investigation revealed he had breached election protocols.
The NUJ board removed Chidoka with immediate effect as the representative of Sports Writers Association of Nigeria body in FCT after he woefully lost his re-election bid to the newly elected Chairman, Comrade Bunmi Haruna.
To this effect, the umbrella body wrote disclaimer letters to the Ministry of Sports, FCT Sports Department, FCT Administration to mention but few. The body stated that the Bunmi Haruna led SWAN is the only legitimate recognised body in FCT adding that anyone dealing with the former Chairman, Chidoka as Chairman does that at his own risk.
When contacted, NUJ FCT Chairman, Comrade Emmanuel Ogbeche confirmed that letters have been sent to concerned authorities in FCT and beyond telling them that Bunmi Haruna is the Chairman FCT SWAN.
"Yes, letters have been distributed to the concerned authorities to recognise Bunmi Haruna led SWAN as the only body in Abuja. They followed due process during the Elections conducted and monitored by our body." Ogbeche said
"NUJ FCT chapter acknowledged that, following an investigation, the other group breached election guidelines during the just concluded FCT election led by the former Fct SWAN chairman," he added.
Corroborating the Chairman, a member of the body said the NUJ has removed Chidoka with immediate effect and will be replaced by Bunmi Haruna
"There cannot be vacuum in the Executive Committee seat. Once he has been removed, the next thing is to replace him with Bunmi Haruna." He told BSN Sports.
On Tuesday, the FCT Sports Department headed by the Acting Director, Luka Istifanus received Bunmi led SWAN in the office following the letter received from the NUJ.
Comrade Bunmi Haruna who won the FCT SWAN election will now replace the embattled former FCT SWAN chairman on the NUJ executive committee seat in the FCT.
