SWAN Hails Minister Over Composition of 10-year Football Development Master Plan Committee By Niyi Busari Bunmi Haruna, Chairman Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) FCT chapter has hailed the Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Chief Sunday Dare over the composition of the 10 Year Football Development Master Plan Committee. Reacting after the inauguration of the committee in Abuja on Thursday, Comrade Bunmi said SWAN is impressed with the caliber of people on the committee and insists they are capable of charting a good course for the development of the beautiful game in Nigeria. “The minister should be commended for being able to bring this caliber of people together. A committee that has experienced sports administrator like Alhaji Ibrahim Galadima as Chairman, sports developer Mr. Yemi Idowu as Vice chairman, Chief Segun Odegbami, Sunday Oliseh, Musa Amadu, Dr. Mohammed Sanusi, Ade Ojeikere, Emmanuel Babayaro among others as members will surely deliver on its mandate. “While we hope that they will be adequately supported to carry out this task, we also urge the ministry to put in place machineries to ensure that the committee’s eventual recommendations will not be swept under the carpet. Their recommendations should be made public so the people can hold the ministry accountable,” Bunmi said. The SWAN chairman also thanked the minister for donating 50 copies of the book "Audacity to Refuse" written by former Super Eagles captain Sunday Oliseh to SWAN FCT chapter.
