Sylvester Igboun joins Russian club side Nizhny Novgorod

Sylvester Igboun's search for a new club is over, six weeks after he found himself unemployed by mutually terminating his contract with Russian top-flight club Dynamo Moscow, BSNSports.com.ng reports. He passed a medical before moving to Nizhny Novgorod as a free agent. Recall that the club offered the striker a contract until the end of the current season with the option of extension. In January, Dynamo announced the termination of the contract with Igboun by mutual agreement of the parties. The footballer has been playing for the Moscow club since 2019. Previously, Igboun played in the Danish "Midtjylland" and "Ufa". This season, the 31-year-old Nigerian striker took part in 10 matches of the Russian Premier League and did not score. Dynamo Moscow scored 36 points in 18 matches and is in 2nd place in the standings of the Russian Premier League for the 2021/2022 season. Nizhny Novgorod (19) is in 13th place. The leader of the competition is Zenit (38). Igboun has six caps for the Super Eagles, with the last coming against Swaziland in a World Cup qualifier in November 2015.
