By Sampson Adedeji
After ending the year 2019 in the 20th position, Nigeria Table Tennis star Aruna Quadri has moved up two places to 18th position in the latest ranking released by International Table Tennis Federation ( ITTF), BSNSports.com.ng can report.
Quadri failed to live up to expectations at the ITTF 2019 last tournament that was held in China after he crashed out at the first round of the competition.
The Sporting of Portugal player was elated with the latest ranking and hope to win medal at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic.
“As long as I am happy I am starting this year with this ranking, it also means I need to work harder because remaining on top is more work.
"So having achieved quarterfinal feat in Rio, I think it is possible to win a medal in Tokyo. But I am hoping to qualify this year. But all this would not have been possible without the support from Baba Ijebu Bet, a company that kept faith with me and assisted me to attend more tournaments,” he said.
Quadri will be hoping to win a medal for the country at the upcoming Olympic after played all the way to the quarter final of the Rio OLYMPIC IN 2016.
