Taribo Advises Mikel And Trabzonspor To Settle Amicably

By Sampson Adedeji

Few days after his contract was terminated by the Turkish Super Lig side Trabzonspor, former Nigeria international Taribo West has urged former Nigeria's Super Eagles midfielder John Mikel Obi to make a peace deal with the club.

Mikel left the club on Tuesday after the Turkey league body refused to halt the league due to outbreak of Corona virus which has led many countries stopping their leagues, BSN Reports.

" I just hope that Mikel will be able to reconcile with Trabzonspor because how you leave a club, how you are relieved of your contract or how you walk away matters.

“In the future he might be in need of the club and it could be the other way round. So, it is how he leaves that they will use to judge him.

“I may not really know what transpired between him and the club, whether it was as a result of the coronavirus or not.

I just want him to leave properly. You never can rule out the possibility of the club needing him to provide them with players in the future. All that is required is peace, Taribo told reporters.

Mikel made 19 appearances for Tranzonspor before he left.
