Teakwondo: Anyanacho Moves Up In Latest Ranking, Feels Elated

The profile of Nigeria's Taekwondo star Elizabeth Anyanacho continued to soar as she moved up again in the latest World Teakwondo ranking released on tuesday, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
Anyanacho who started competing in Taekwondo in 2017, had no world ranking as at May 2019 but before the end of 2019 she was ranked 163rd in the world.
Her ranking improved tremendously June 2020 as she moved to 71st position as pandemic grounded sporting events.
The Olympic bound Anyanacho was extremely happy about the ranking and believed it will serve as motivation for her going to the ancient games.
"It just numbers on the table but seeing the improved ranking is motivating because it shows inhave working extremely hard in training."
"Certainly, we want to be on top at some point and the only way to get there is to keep going.
"Our current target is to be in the top 20 in the world within the next 2 years, but it requires a lot of resources and exposure.
"It has been difficult, but I am grateful for everyone who has supported me so far," she told the federation media."
Based on the latest ranking Anyanacho is now ranked 6th in Africa.
