Team FCT Arrives Ilorin For 2021 National Youth Games

The contingent of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) to the 2021 National Youth Games has arrived Ilorin, the venue of the annual grassroots sports event.
Team FCT left their camp at Old Parade Ground, Garki on Monday morning with two trucks of escort and one ambulance. 74 athletes will represent the country's capital at the 6th National Youth Games in 18 games.
Praising the FCT Administration for their efforts in sports development in Abuja, Acting Director FCT Sports Department, Luka Istifanus said, "I appreciate the FCT Administration for their support at all times. They spent huge amount of money in April sponsoring Team FCT to the National Sports Festival in Edo and also hosted the Awards Night in Abuja. And now, the support continues as Team FCT left their camp for Ilorin.
He added, "Team FCT has left for Ilorin this (Monday) morning. 74 athletes will represent FCT in 18 games. The 18 games are the area where we have comparative advantage over other states. Based on our preparations ahead of this year's event, we hope to finish among the first ten states on the medal table."
Team FCT will compete in 18 games where they hope to win medals to finish in a respectable position on the medals table at the end of the annual championship.
National Youth Games is an annual grassroots sports event organised by the Ministry of Sports for athletes under the age of 16.
The opening ceremony slated for Wednesday has been shifted to Friday while Screening for athletes holds on Thursday.
