Terem Moffi: I Will Be Extremely Happy To Represent My Country

Terem
FC Lorient of France in-form striker, Terem Moffi has admitted he is eager to get an invitation to the Super Eagles, as the fast-growing lad, who grew up in Calabar, stressed that he would be extremely happy and proud to play for Nigeria, BSNSports.com.ng reports. In the wake of his recent heroics in front of goal for Lorient, the biggest of which was a winning sizzler that spelt doom for high-flying Paris Saint-Germaine, Moffi is eager to transform his form from the French Ligue 1 to action with Nigeria’s national team. While Lorient continue battling with relegation, Moffi is on fire and has netted five goals in his last five matches, on the strength of which he admitted that his career would receive a massive highlight should he get to play for the Super Eagles. He, however, admitted that he is yet to hear from Eagles’ coach, Gernot Rohr, who recently watched him in action against Girondins-Bordeaux, but that has not stopped him acknowledging that it will be a great honour to don the green-and-white and follow footsteps of his role models. The rave of the moment pointed out that he gets a high level of inspiration from several former players of the Nigerian squad and he now wants to take after them and fellow-youngster, Victor Osimhen in bringing glory home to the country, even as he admitted he is still awaiting a call from Rohr. Moffi disclosed: “I grew up watching Jay-Jay Okocha, Obafemi Martins, Nwankwo Kanu play. I watch Osimhen play a lot, we played together. He’s a real example. I haven’t heard from the coach. But if the opportunity arises, I would be extremely happy to represent my country.”
