Rangers international General Manager, Davidson Owumi has described the news of his involvement in a club managers meeting in Abuja which advised the League Management Company to abruptly end the league now as against September 2nd resumption date as fake, Basic Sports in Nigeria (BSN Sports) reports.
He added that those behind such news are doing so for their selfish reasons beat known to them.
He assured the public of supporting the kick off date of September 2nd.
"Rangers have played over 16 friendlies since the forced break. Just last Sunday, we spent hundreds of thousands to take my players to 0werri to play a friendly match with HEARTLAND IN OWERRI. Does things look like someone that is not prepared to kick off the league? The idiot talked about" fortifying our teams with what?" Is he not aware that the transfer window is over? A thief must always leave a trace...He shows he does not even knows how the league works."
He stated further he was neither being interviewed by any journalist nor has nit visited Abuja in the last three months.
"l have not been in Abuja for 3months.. i do not grant interviews to just anybody... This person is just name dropping to test the waters...l am through with this."
A report reportedly from News Agency of Nigeria has earlier quoted the former Rangers International Football Club star saying, that the league should end and all clubs should start preparing for new season so that the Nigerian League can be on the same line with the European and part of the world.
The quote also added that the two teams at the top of the table should represent Nigeria at the CAF competitions.
