Togo FA Hands Le Roy Contract Extension Till 2022

Despite failing to qualify for the 2019 African Cup of Nation in Egypt, the Togolese Football Association on Monday renewed head coach Claude Le Roy’s contract ahead of 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
The federation president, Guy Akpovy made the announcement on Monday evening handing the task of guiding the Sparrow Hawks to 2021 African Cup of Nations and 2022 FIFA World Cup to the 70-year-old Frenchman.
Le Roy remained one of the most traveled foreign coach across Africa, handling countries like Cameroon, DR Congo etc, BSN Reports.
Le Roy was appointed the Sparrow Hawks coach in April 2016 replacing another African football veteran Tom Sainfiet.
In the 2021 AFCON qualifiers, Togo is grouped with Kenya, Comoros and Egypt. In the Qatar 2022 qualifiers are in the same pool with Senegal, Congo and Namibia.
