Tokyo 2020: Brown Reveals Why He Accepts Nigeria Job As D'Tigers Camp Opens In USA By Sampson Adedeji Ahead of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games Nigeria's D'Tiger's manager Mike Brown has opened up on why he accepted the offer to handle the African side, BSNSports.com.ng can reports. The assistant coach of the NBA side, Golden State Warriors, was appointed after D'Tiger secured its passage to the ancient Games under the tutelage of Alex Nwora. Brown first assignment with the team was in the first leg of the AfroBasket qualifiers and the team came out in flying colours winning all its games. While speaking to AP media, Brown said he wasn't interested in the first place but chance to coach at the Olympic motivated him. “A chance to coach in the Olympics, made me think about it.” he said. Brown will lead the Nigerians into the start of their Olympic through out their camping in Oakland, California, this week, expecting to start with about 35 players who hail mostly from the collegiate, G League and international ranks. That group will get pared down to 12 later this month, when another dozen of players — most with NBA experience — will join the mix for a second round of selections before Brown and the Nigerians choose the final roster for the Tokyo Games.
