By Sampson Adedeji

Ahead of Tokyo 2020 Olympic, Nigeria's D'Tiger star player Stanley Okoye has said that the team must prove itself at the upcoming Olympic in Japan, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The Herbalife Gran Canaria of Spain confirmed that a podium finish remain a big target of the team and erased the memories of not performing well at FIBA 2019 in China.

“For us, we have always talked about it. We want a medal. We have to look forward to the Olympics. We want to stay on the podium,” the 29-year-old told Brila radio.

With D’Tigers currently ranked 23 in the world and number one in Africa, Okoye believes that a second-ever Afrobasket triumph is a distinct possibility for Nigeria.
