Tokyo 2020: Funke Oshonaike Bows To Juan Liu In Table Tennis By Niyi Busari Nigeria commenced with a loss in table tennis event as Juan Liu of USA defetaed Funke Oshonaike in the first game with a four set to one earlier today. A 4-1 (7-11, 3-11, 4-11, 13-11, 4-11) loss in the preliminary table tennis women’s singles game by Funke Oshonaike to Liu Juan of USA made it the second in two sports Nigeria participated in five hours. Before the table tennis event, the young Esther Toko, who qualified for repechage was exhausted as she rowed to the finish line in 4th place with the time of 9:07.54s. Toko needed to finish in the first or second place to progress to the quartet finals but her 4th place finish wasn't enough to earn her any of the available 2 spots. Toko will now focus on competing in the Semifinal E/F.
